The Idria area is blessed with an abundance of wildlife and the surrounding area is popular with hunters during pig, quail and deer season. In addition to all of the common animals, such as rabbits, deer, bob cats, skunks, raccoon, squirrel, rattlesnakes, jays, crows, hawks and owls (and an endless list of many more), the region's woodlands are home for many threatened and endangered species.
